Hiring Woodend Barn
It is possible to hire the Woodend Barn and/or the Lang Byre and, in certain circumstances, our kitchen, either by the day or by the hour, subject to a minimum period. Rates for hire vary considerably. We generally charge commercial rates for company hires, private parties and weddings. We have discounted rates for arts events and events staged by local groups which are accessible to the general public.
WAA is a charity and receives no guaranteed core funding. Our wide range of arts events is financed by: (a) ticket sales and workshop fees, (b) grants / sponsorship / private donations, and (c) private hire of the facilities.
By hiring the Barn, you are helping to sustain this community arts venue and fund our arts programme.
Guidance about hiring the Barn
We have three separate categories for hire of the Barn: a) Private or Corporate Functions including weddings, parties and ceilidhs where the public are not invited; b) fund-raising events for charitable or other good causes where tickets are available to the public; and c) Staged Performances or concerts where tickets are available to the public.
Hire rates will depend upon this category and what services and technical equipment is required. Take a look at our backstage facilities.
There are also separate categories for hire of the Lang Byre Gallery dependent upon whether it is for private use or public use (such as a workshop or meeting open to the public).
