About Third Stage at Woodend Barn Banchory

Third Stage offers a varied programme of arts based activities with friendly and informal classes for older people on Deeside. Participants can turn up on the day and take part.

The autumn 2008 session runs from September 3 until December 3.  Scottish poet and writer Kenneth Steven will be the first guest. 

The classes are friendly and informal, running weekly on Wednesday mornings from 10 am -12 noon with coffee being served from 9.45am.

Third Stage workshopThere is usually a different subject each week, but short courses are arranged as required. Subjects covered so far include painting, drawing, lino cutting, movement, drama, singing, stories and writing, poetry, silk painting and other creative work with fabrics.

Outings are sometimes arranged to visit local art galleries, and to explore art in the environment.

All classes are taken by professional artists including teachers from City Moves, Peacock Visual Arts and Whitespace, Aberdeen.

If you would like to meet people and try a new craft or develop your creative skills then come along. Everyone is welcome - complete beginners and the more experienced.

Woodend Barn is fitted with an induction loop. Disabled parking spaces are marked in front of the building and there is ramped access throughout. If you have any special needs please telephone in advance to ensure that suitable arrangements can be made.
