Roddy Woomble
Idlewild frontman Roddy returns to the band with a new band and showcasing material from 2011's "The Impossible Song and Other Songs". Idlewild are a firm favourite in Scotland and Roddy's solo work has found him developing his lyrical palette to encompass more of the landscape and Scotlands folk heritage.
Set apart from Idlewilds frenetic yet melodic rock sound, Roddy released his first solo album, My Secret is My Silence in 2006, earning rave reviews from both the folk and rock press. This was followed up with Before the Ruin, recorded with John McCusker and Kris Drever in 2008, which was toured extensively and earned yet more positive press.
Roddy was also the main instigator behind the successful Ballads of the Book album, bringing together leading Scottish poets and musicians to collaborate on new songs.
This tour will see Roddy play songs from all 3 solo albums and he's promised to sneak in a few Idlewild numbers too!
