The Barn has a long tradition of promoting traditional music and storytelling events although this has operated at an informal level rather than through a separately constituted traditional group.

There are regular Folk Music Session Nights on the last Friday of each month at Crathes Hall from 8pm (£3 on the door). Everyone is welcome to come along and share in the music and banter. Bring along a song, poem or story or just come and listen. No booking is necessary; the charge is £2 on the door; bring your own refreshments.
