Deliverance

We started the Deliverance nights in November 2011 as a way of showcasing bands from around the country that wouldn't sit as easily in our main programme.  Bands that would appeal to people who aren't currently coming to the barn.  But mainly so we could see bands that we love without travelling into the city centre to see them.

Why should you have to go to a city to see the best new music?  Surely there's something to be said for playing a gig in the middle of the countryside, surrounded by fields, forests and just a stones throw from some of Scotlands most spectacular scenery and the Cairngorms National Park, right?

Well we thought there was.   Deliverance brings the finest bands from across the country and puts them in the Woodend Barn, a converted barn and cattle byre known for putting on some of the finest folk music around and a diverse range of theatre, dance and exhibitions.

So far we've had The Hazey Janes, Riley Briggs and Kirsten Adamson, Katerwaul and Davy Shanks grace our stage and March sees Meursault and Wounded Knee kicking off the 2012 season with a bang.  We're looking for great, new music and bands who want to be a part of something special.  Give us a shout if you're up for a gig: david [at] woodendbarn [dot] co [dot] uk (subject: Deliverance%20Gig)

Please include a link to video and recent recordings plus any press you've had recently.  These gigs are roughly every 6 weeks so if we can't fit you in just now, keep in touch!  As the nights get more established we hope to put them on more often.

Keep upto date with everything by following us on facebook and twitter

Deliverance Sessions

We asked Meursault and Wounded Knee if they would record a track each for us, without amplification in a part of the Barn.  The idea is to build a library of exclusive sessions from the artists who play the Deliverance nights.  Here's the first two!
