Volunteer Opportunities 

Over the years, the Barn has seen a steady increase in audience numbers, but we still rely upon generous donations of both time and money. The Barn owes its existence to a dedicated group of volunteers, and whilst there is a core team of paid staff, the Board are all volunteers and the whole programme is supported by volunteers whose skills and passion for the arts make everything at the Barn possible. 

As the Barn continues to grow and attract a wider audience, it is in need of additional volunteers to keep the show on the road!  There are a number of interesting roles available, working as part of the team in a friendly and dynamic arts organisation. 

All hours are negotiable. 

• Grants fund-raiser (15 – 30 hours/month)
• Donations fund-raiser (15 – 30 hours/month)
• Events organiser (5 – 30 hours/month – varies during the year)
• Wedding co-ordinator (5 - 20 hours/month – varies during the year)
• Box office support (Saturday 10 – 4pm (shared), and some weekday support)
• Marketing support (5 - 20 hours /week)
• Lang Byre Gallery administrator (3 - 6 hours/week)
• Website support (6 – 10 hours/month)
• Landscape maintenance and wild garden helpers (variable)
• Non-Executive Board members (minimum1 day per month) 

Candidates must enjoy working in a challenging, fast-moving environment, like to work independently and be flexible. They will be joining a large team of volunteers who work with the Barn’s small team of paid staff.

Lang Byre Gallery Stewards

We need amateur artists/art enthusiasts to be stewards in the Lang Byre Gallery on a regular basis. Rewards are the satisfaction of promoting the artwork of emerging artists, meeting new people and free tickets to events that are not sold out at Woodend Barn. Gallery opening times: Monday to Saturday 10am – 4pm, Sunday 1pm – 4pm.
